Conflicts with family and friends can turn into major problems in your life, but you don’t have to let that happen. We can help.
Community Mediation of St. Mary’s County provides conflict management education and coaching, as well as mediation support services that empower people to turn conflict into conversation. CMSMC offers free services by appointment at the Health Hub on Tuesdays from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m., including:
- General Mediation: Sibling/Friend, Neighbor, or Landlord/Tenant disputes
- Family Mediation: Separation/Divorce, Co-parenting, Elder Care
- Parent-Teen Mediation
- Individualized Conflict Management Coaching
- Conflict Management Workshops

We offer short-term behavioral health services that are free, walk-in friendly and designed to help you take the next step with confidence.
The St. Mary’s County Health Hub offers support in the following areas:
Short-term therapy and emotional support
Medication management, including medications for opioid use disorder
Care coordination and case management
Peer support from individuals in recovery
Connections to trusted community providers for long-term care
Walk in during business hours — no appointment needed. You’ll be met by compassionate professionals who are ready to help, even if you’re not sure what kind of help you need yet.
We do recommend calling 911 or utilizing the hospital emergency department if you or someone you know is suicidal or homicidal, experiencing extreme psychosis, or is otherwise in need of immediate medical care or medications. The 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline is also available for 24/7 support.

Programa de informes diarios
The St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office’s Day Reporting Program emphasizes health care, education, and other life needs to support rehabilitation and mitigate factors contributing to crime. Participants commit to vigorous treatment, rehabilitation, and daily monitoring in lieu of residential incarceration. The program decreases recidivism in the criminal justice system.

The Maryland Department of Labor provides employment services each month at the Hub, including career counseling, resume assistance, and professional skills workshops.

Clínicas de cancelación de antecedentes penales
Certain types of criminal records are eligible to be expunged, or removed from your record, under Maryland law. The law offices of Williams, McClernan, and Stack, LLC provides free legal help for those who may be eligible.
Expungement Clinics are held on the first Tuesday of every other month.

PNC Bankoffers financial education and coaching at the St. Mary’s County Health Hub, including tips to help you maintain a budget, navigate banking resources, invest wisely, grow your savings, and plan for retirement.

Risk Reduction Program Services
Risk reduction is a way of preventing disease and promoting health that “meets people where they are” rather than making judgments about where they should be in terms of health and lifestyle.
The following Risk Reduction Services are available at the Health Hub:
- Buprenorphine treatment*
- Collection and safe disposal of used syringes
- Distribution of equipment and other supplies for the prevention of overdose and infectious disease
- Risk Reduction Kits
- Hepatitis C testing and treatment*
- HIV testing and referral to treatment
- Linkage to treatment, recovery, and community support services
- Outreach, peer education, and support
- Overdose response training and naloxone distribution
- Rapid Analysis of Drugs (RAD)
- Referrals for STI testing
- Referrals for wound care
- Education and resources on safer use
- Education and resources for safer sex, including condoms

A Medicaid Specialist from the St. Mary’s County Health Department is available at the Health Hub on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. to answer questions about health insurance options and assist with Medicaid enrollment

L.E.A.D (Law Enforcement Assisted Diversion)
LEAD enhances safety, health, and equity by building a community-based alternative to jail and prosecution for people whose unlawful behavior stems from unmet needs related to substance use, mental health challenges, or poverty.
LEAD enhances public safety and equity by diverting people with unmet behavioral health needs away from jail and prosecution and into nonpunitive, collaborative, community-based systems of care. Improving your literacy skills can provide a major boost to your professional opportunities and significantly improve your quality of life.
The Literacy Council of St. Mary’s provides one-on-one tutoring and customized learning opportunities for adults. Trained tutors help students advance academics at all levels, including GED preparation and skills for successful career paths. They also support learning English for speakers of other languages.

Primary care is foundational, comprehensive, and accessible healthcare to address a wide range of medical needs, emphasize preventive care, and establish long-term patient-provider relationships.
Greater Baden Medical Services provides primary and preventive health care services at their new clinic located at 21729 Great Mills Road, Lexington Park, MD 20653.
Greater Baden Medical Services is a Federally Qualified Health Center that operates community-based health clinics. It offers services on a sliding fee scale and accepts private insurance, Medicaid, Medicare, and those who do not have health insurance.

Reiki
Reiki is an alternative healing method that reduces stress and promotes relaxation through a gentle non-invasive technique using hand placement on or near the body to help facilitate a deep meditative state. It helps promote emotional and psychological wellbeing along with physical health.
Sessions are available for free Mondays from 11am-12:30pm, Wednesdays from 10:30am-3pm, and Fridays from 1-4pm.

Stella’s Girls offers mentoring for young people 8 to 24 years old, with an emphasis on black youth. The mentorship provides a framework to discover and understand their individual brilliance.
The mission is to provide a foundation that will enhance self-esteem, academic achievement, leadership skills, and cultural awareness. This provides them with the opportunity to develop emotionally, socially, and intellectually and be prepared to take an active role in their success as they face the challenges of the world.
Using evidence-based mentorship techniques, professional volunteers teach leadership skills, self-empowerment, and self-esteem while affirming gender equality for generations to come.
